Unconventionally Sheltered
Director / Producer / Editor / Cinematographer
A short documentary about Stephen A. Baribeau — known to college students as King Wook, but to friends as Sheba. A local legend in Boulder, Colorado, Sheba is known for his ever-growing collection of belongings and his steady presence near the college campus. Shot in a minimalist, observational style, the film follows his daily routine and explores the tension between visibility and neglect in a city that prides itself on compassion. Along the way, it raises questions about public space — who it's for, how it's used, and who gets to belong in it. Unconventionally Sheltered has over 47K views on YouTube, was selected by 14 festivals, and won “Most Inspirational” at the Oregon Documentary Film Festival.
